My artistic endeavors range from creating and experimenting in my studio, to teaching art, and writing. A passion for nature has provided me with boundless ideas and mysteries to uncover.
  • Member of the Fiber Artists of Houston. Chair of Federation Show, a juried event involving 3 chapters of Fiber Artists. The show opened at The Arts Alliance at Clear Lake, Texas in Feb 2004. The show traveled to Slater Mill Museum in Rhode Island from May until August, 2004, and on to the Travis Towers, Houston, from October to December, 2004.

  • Artwork and educational article published in Quilting Arts magazine, Summer 2003, featuring current work on endangered songbirds. The eight-page article details contemporary printing and painting techniques.

  • Grand Prize Winner of Ink Jet Fabric Competition, August, 2003. World wide competition, sponsors include C. Jenkins Necktie, Hewlett Packard & Epson.

  • Taught fabric painting classes at Sam Houston High School in 2001. Six quilts were created from the classes and donated to the Holocaust Museum. These quilts were featured in a TV segment aired numerous times during Oct. & Nov. 2001, and an article about the project was featured in Leader newspaper, May 24 & Oct.11, 2001.

  • Taught fabric painting, airbrushing, beading and machine embroidery at the International Quilt Festival from 1997 to 2003. This is the most prestigious show in the quilting industry. My classes sold out, and I am scheduled to teach in October, 2004.

  • Chair of Fiber Artists Style Show & Luncheon, at the Hilton, Nov. 18, 2000, in Houston. Doubled proceeds from the previous year. In 2001, ran the advertising for the show, increasing our revenues, allowing the Fiber Artists to donate $1800 to 3 Houston High School Art Departments.

  • Author and designer of a book on Fabric Painting, released in April 2000, by Fiber Studio Press, Martingale Publishing.

  • Featured in Quilting Masterclass, a book "from 50 of the worlds finest artists". Quarto Publishing, 2000, Pages 124 -128.

  • Author of Quilted Sea Tapestries, a book on machine embroidery published in 1995, and reprinted in 1996. As a result, I have taught fiber art classes, combining art and machine embroidery, in over 50 cities in the U.S. and 7 cities in Japan.

  • Created numerous fiber arts commissions for private residences. Most recently I created an ocean scene for a client in San Jose, Ca and a mountain triptych for a resident of North Carolina.

  • Have shown artwork in galleries & shows, such as 13 Moons of Santa Fe, Museum of Natural History in Delaware, International Quilt Festival and 1998 Olympics, in Japan. I am currently represented by Thomas Schmidt in Houston,Texas.

  • Served as 2004 decorating chair of Project Graduation for Kingwood High School. This is a community service project that provides a safe night of entertainment to graduating seniors.

  • Education: BFA University of Houston. Continuing college classes on Web Graphics and workshops with renown teachers in the Fiber Arts field.
